NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This is an ambitious film on the ground of the vast amount of cgi alone. Unfortunately it seems that the graphics was all the money went toward, and even then is was the texture maping and not the kinetics. The characters moved like they were poorly controlled meat puppets.

To be honest I couldn’t get through the whole thing. The dialogue, the narrator, the writing; it was all, in a word, bad.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Henry Rollins has been a role model of mine for quite a long time. It’s nice to see that he is still going strong. He can make you laugh and cry, but most of all he inspires you to go out there and give ‘em hell.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was an enjoyable movie with some good laughs. The secondary characters were actually funnier than the main characters (i.e. lemurs and penguins) which made it not as funny as it could have been. Still worth getting if you are looking for a family movie and you want to moob it moob it!

I got through this in about 30 minutes and even though it is obviously written for women, I thought it was funny.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This seems like a major contradition, but it was true. A good part of this book, especially the first half was very interesting to me. The life and poverty of the tribes. The bravery to set out alone on amazing travels where others dare not tread. It was incredible. As it went on the novelty wore off and it continued it focused less on the country and the travels and more on what seemed like the same situations over and over. There were high points of interest even in this part, but by the end it was not as fresh as it was when it began.

One thing that I found particularly interesting is that this took place in the early 1930s and yet already you begin to see the seeds sewn for the Iranian Revolution nearly 50 years later.

Overall it was well worth the read, but beware it does drag in parts.

I’m not a big fan of documentaries, but this was very well done. The format, the photos the music were all first rate. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is willing to watch it.

I love the John Woo and Chow Yun Fat collaborations. I think that the strangest part about this one was that Chow Yun Fat is a supporting actor rather than the leading actor. I love the scene in the hallway with the planters. Classic Woo!

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m not a Clooney fan, nor a fan of the Coen brothers, nor a bluegrass listener. It took me about six years to get around to watching this movie. Lo and behold, I liked it.
