bar none. sufjan stevens is an american treasure. from some of the most heartfelt original compositions that reveal steven’s coming of age, journey of faith and relationship to the holiday, to amazing renditions of classic hymns and carols such as ‘amazing grace,’ ‘come thou fount of every blessing,’ ‘the friendly beasts’ and more, this set of lp’s is incredible.

this concert movie made me fall in love with david gray. i remember it vividly. i was unemployed for a stretch and entertained myself flipping through satellite tv. i hit mtv 2 and this sound was coming out of my tv that was just incredible. i had no idea who this guy was but the sound hit me to the bone.

but it was when david sat down to the piano and played “this years love,” that my love for david became sealed. i had just gotten divorced and the hope tempered by past pain in that song hit my right in the gut, deep where it knocks the wind out of you.

i have loved him ever since, and i love this concert at the point for introducing him to me.

absolutely the best source of information for cutting edge trends, particulary as relates to web2.0. the best thing about wired is that it points you to the sources on the web to go to.

my whole web2.0, social-networking addiction started as a result of a wired article i read last summer.

horrible, horrible. there are not enough words to describe how much i can’t stand the da vinci code. from factual innacuracies to plot inconsistencies to flat-out logical absurdities the da vinci code has it all.

and more deus ex machina than you can shake a stick at.

anout the only way to read something worse than the da vinci code is to read angels and demons.

a great review of some of the best indie music out there. zach braff picked an awesome mix of music to set as the backdrop for an amazing movie.

after listening to this, you are going to want to run to your mac and download everything the shins have ever recorded.

i saw sp in atlanta last month when they were tuning up for the release of this album. they played the song chasing cars and it about made me want to cry. it was one of the most amazing songs i had ever heard.

i didn’t know the name of it, but i knew it was incredible. i have been waiting on the release of this album for a month now so i can hear it again.

it has not disappointed. it is the best love song i have ever heard.

you have to let it grow on you. particularly the cello. but the payoff is there. definitely unconvential so people will think you are ‘deep’ for listening to it.

simply put, this cd is incredible. i am suprised ruth never did better. this thing grabs you from the first chord. i heard it wandering around easy street records in queen anne in seattle and bought it on the spot.

my cousing describes ruth as “like janis joplin but she can sing.”

this is exactly what you would expect from the wallflowers. jakob’s voice melodious to the extreme, soft guitars, good songwriting.

if you like the wallflowers, you’ll like this. if you don’t you won’t. there’s nothing really new here.
