A story about "Death of a River Guide: A Novel" — 5 years ago

Not my usual reading material. However, this book managed to keep me reading, and I cared about the antagonist the whole way through. The metaphysics left me hanging a bit, but enjoyed the read.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I really enjoyed this book. I recently purchased a new copy, since my old copy was in terrible shape. I plan on re-reading it on a several year interval.

A story about "Sundiver (The Uplift Saga, Book 1)" — 5 years ago

A buddy in college had a role playing game based on the world in these books. Although I never gamed in his world, the story really interested me. Besides, this series seems to be one of the best rated in SciFi.

A story about "The Magic Engineer (Recluce series, Book 3)" — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was the first Recluce book I ever read.
Magic and blacksmithing technology mix elegantly.
The depth of the characters makes them believable, and the description emerges the reader in the world.

A story about "The Order War (Recluce series, Book 4)" — 5 years ago

Although I was disappointed with the first novel in the series, I persevered due to the strength of the third novel. I was rewarded by the second book, however, this fourth in the series disappointed. I am concerned because this book actually comes before the first chronologically. I will likely not purchase any more in this series.
