Looking forward to reading this. I saw Vince read at KGB, and he described himself as the world’s oldest first novelist. Passaro is also famous as the author of the Harper’s essay, “Who’ll Stop the Drain: Reflections on the Art of Going Broke.”
The chapter which demolishes the notion that everyone will work at home in the future is my current favorite.
This collection of stories is neatly pegged to the paperback publication of Empire Falls.
I liked the original story in Harper\’s and I’m looking forward to reading the rest.
Nothing like a purchase from a street vendor.
This is a great overview of how wireless networking actually works. After the two-note press stories of wardriving and warchalking, it makes for a refreshing read.
Less dark that some other McEwan books I’ve read.
Interesting homage to 19th century lit so far.
Hoping this will help me polish the design of Hermes: The Weblog.
Saw him read from this at the Kitchen in May 2002.
Comprehensive and interesting. Makes me want to get my hands on Uncertain Times, the unfinished novel.
