This was actually much better than I thought it was going to be, though I never would have read it were it not for the “Lost” connection. Can’t say I’d recommend it for anyone who isn’t a Lost addict, either. I did like this, though: at the end of the typical these-events-are-fictional disclaimer on the copyright page , it states “The author himself is a fictional character.”

Dan picked these up, and I needed something to read. Fairly decent. I’m surprised I never read these as a kid.

The second item in the series, this one appealed to me a bit more than the first. The characters were a bit more developed this time around, though Cadigan does still tend to abuse the internal monologue.

Wow. 5 out of 5. And you know I’m a picky bitch. Hate to cut this short, but I have to go read everything he’s ever written now.

OMG. Dave White has sucked out my brain and laid it down here in all its misanthropic glory, with much more skill than I could ever muster. If I ever actually meet him, I’m totally doing the embarrassing fanboy shtick.

Not really my cup o’ tea, if you’ll excuse the pun. The characters seem to exist mostly to be astounded with the Crazy Shit that the author comes up with. Cadigan is fairly adept at the Crazy Shit, it’s true, but that does not a novel make.
