WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m not even sure I can say what it is that I loved about this book, but it was great. Kept me involved in the story throughout, had great characters, and an interesting story. I am eagerly anticipating the next book in what I’m assuming will be a trilogy.

I’m going to buy it in hardcover, and give it a place on the shelf with my other favourites.

It was... ok. — 4 years ago

Maybe I read to many fantasy novels and watched too many Sci-fi shows, but while this was a fun book with a great premise, I found the lack of details regarding the “hows” of time travel disappointing. I’m not sure how Courtney ended up in Jane’s body… Or what happened to Jane during that time – especially since it was Jane who wished she was someone else. The final chapter didn’t really wrap things up for me, and if anything, it left me with more questions.

It would have been great if we could see Jane’s experiences during our time as well. And all that self-discovery about Wes – where did that go? I just felt like I was left hanging…

Great story, dissapointing ending — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a great series, and well worth reading if you are in the mood for epic fantasy. Great character development and an engaging story.

After following these characters, specifically Fitz, for six books, I feel like the wrap-up at the end was a little dissapointing. I became seriously invested in the characters and I wanted more of a peek into the future, and more than the year she gave us. There was 15 years between the first and second trilogy, and I wanted a chapter at the end capturing another 15 years later… Oh well.

Read the book... — 5 years ago

There seems to have been too much in the book to make the movie a good reflection of it. The characters in the movie weren’t very full, and it was hard to actually get to know them. There were large sections of the book skipped, which is understandable, but it took away from the story.

I’m sure that if I hadn’t read the book first, I would have enjoyed the movie more…

WORTH CONSUMING!

I have always loved the 1995 version with Amanda Root and CiarĂ¡n Hinds, but this version is better. You see more of their emotions, and the longing each has. I may be prejudiced as it is my favourite Austen, but its a great movie regardless of that.

As good as Jane Austen herself — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie is wonderful. It was as satisfying to watch as any of the Jane Austen movies. The characters were well done, and the story line was fun.

I love stories about things — 7 years ago

Yes, I know that sounds strange. I enjoy stories about objects, and their history, and the people who touch/interact with them. A story like this appeals to me because of the fantasic locations, and the growth of the characters. Kinda fluffy, but enjoyable none-the-less.

Why I recommend "A Venetian Affair: A True Tale of Forbidden Love in the 18th Century" — 7 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book is great. This story is interesting to read, as most of it is told through the actual letters exchanged by the two people. I found it very easy to read, and it seemed more like a fiction novel than a biography – but it is indeed a biography. That the people in the book actually existed, and lived through the events described gave it such an intimate feel. Having their own words describe their feelings and their lives was very unique.

Good first novel — 7 years ago

For being a first novel, this was a great book. The mystery was pretty convoluted, but satisfying. Description of the people and the environment was good.

Irish mystery that somewhat satisfies — 7 years ago

This was a good mystery. Great setting, and a story that didn’t give away too much of the ‘who dunnit’ end. Hart seems to want you to think one person is the culprit, and then springs someone else on you out of the blue. Kinda makes it hard to guess who was the murderer, but that is also part of the fun of a mystery novel.
