A story about "Protect and Defend" — 5 years ago

Honestly, this book surprised me. Many of the books in this genre have, at some point, become bogged down in technicalities and jargon. Not so with Protect and Defend. It also really made me examine my feelings on the real life issues it fictionalizes and gave me a peek into why the “other side” feels the way it does.

A story about "The Da Vinci Code" — 5 years ago

Even though it’s fiction, this book renewed my interest in the history of the Christian church. That’s not a small feat. It’s a good read, and a quick one. Whether you want to love it or hate it, read it. I don’t think you’ll be sorry.

A story about "Neverwhere" — 5 years ago

During my epic trip to Georgia, I reread this book for the fifth or sixth time. It never ceases to be interesting and fun. Every time I read it, I catch some new subtlety in the text, some new bit of common lore. I’m sure I’ll read this again sometime, and I’d recommend that anyone interested in modern fantasy read it, too.

A story about "The Mammoth Book of Vampire Stories by Women" — 5 years ago

This collection of stories is very diverse, with stories that incorporate lore from a number of ages and cultures. This book was interesting on a number of levels, and I recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of the vampire story genre.

A story about "Frankenstein (Barnes & Noble Classics Series) (B&N Classics)" — 5 years ago

This has always been one of my favrorite books. Right now, though, I’m reading it for my Women Writers course. It’s great when scholastic reading and leisure reading converge.

A story about "Gothic! : Ten Original Dark Tales" — 5 years ago

I bought this book because Neil Gaiman has a story in it, but I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the other stories included in the anthology. When I need to unwind with some “easy reading,” this is the book I’ve been picking up lately.

A story about "Cunt: A Declaration of Independence Expanded and Updated Second Edition" — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

As soon as I finish this book, I’m going to change “currently reading” to “favorite book.” This book is amazing. It’s helped me to understand more about myself and other women, and I’m not even finished reading it. I might not agree with everything Inga writes, but that’s just life. Her very casual writing style is making this an easy, interesting read.
