This was recommended to me by a virtual friend. I thoroughly enjoyed it, a mixture of tragedy and hopefulness. Apparently this is not his best work so I am on the lookout for more.
I have been bypassing this for a while as it is rather large, but decided to give it a go. Only read about 40 pages and so far it’s ok, but it doesn’t draw me in and make me want to read rather than do other stuff.
Okay I have finished this now and it is GREAT, highly recommended!
I am a big fan of Helen Dunmore, so I am hoping to enjoy this book.

An excellent novel, bang up to date detective story, and characters who develop so quickly you feel you’ve been getting to know them for ages.
Haven’t read Bryson for quite a few years so I’m looking forward to being amused by this.
Beautiful evocative writing, you must read Brokeback Mountain before you see the movie, sensational.
