A story about "The Joy Luck Club" — 1 day ago
I have given up with this book about half way through. It just doesn’t interest me or engage me. I can’t keep track of who is who, is seems more like a series of short stories. Moving on….

I’ve never really listened to Placebo before but this gets good reviews so I thought I would give it a go. An excellent album, very pleased I discovered it
I am so glad I discovered George Pelecanos, although I don’t remember how! This latest offering does not disappoint, usual gritty style located in the seedier streets of Washington DC. His characters come to life and I love his trade mark soul music references.
An excellent book, Atkinson has further developed the character of Jackson Brodie brilliantly. I loved all his brooding and perspective on life. Not only that, but a clever detective story too. It was great to have a book I couldn’t wait to pick up again.
This was a re-read for me. Trapido is one of my favourite writers and I have enjoyed becoming re-aquainted with Ali and Noah. Funny yet touching and wonderfully observed.
Disappointing, tried too hard to create the feel of the 1980’s and too many apostrophes!
This is a great read, fast moving with a cast of fabulous characters and set in the lovely city of Edinburgh. If you enjoyed Case Histories I can recommend this as an update of Jackson Brodies latest exploits!
Haven’t read the book so didn’t know what to expect. Thought the film was good, I was engrossed til the end, especially with Bettany and Hanks who were both v.good.
Having read two of O’Farrells previous novels I was looking forward to this one. It did not disappoint, I stayed up half the night yesterday to read it! Esme Lennox is the great aunt Iris did not know she had. Her life has been wasted and Iris begins to discover why. Dark and disturbing and definately unputdownable.
I loved this book, it was fast paced and funny. The decline of the main character, George, was very cleverly done. The acute observations of everyday life made me smile and I can’t wait for Haddon to write another book!
