Really excellent script by Mr. Knight, great direction from the illustrious Apted, and great performances by Ioan Gruffudd and lots of famous British actors lotsa people love. Really was an overlooked film this past season. Too bad it was such limited release…

The translation you need is the Pevear/Volokhonsky edition (either Vintage or Farrar, S, &G). None compare! They don’t edit Dostoyevsky and capture all his lovely humor and wit and weirdness.

I read this over 7 years ago and am starting to read it again with some friends. It’s the craziest thing—how can a book where people just sit around and talk be so engrossing and fast-moving??

I’m fully addicted, but mad b/c the writers are tripping up now. Oh, but I had so much faith in them! The power of good character development! Now they’re messing with/neglecting the character development! I’m angry! Michael did not have to kill off Ana Lucia and Libby for the plot to be interesting. Sadistic, I tell you!

I don’t watch TV… but this has just ruined my life. Addiction is a terrible thing. Terrible!

Has typically witty Vonnegut humor—nice feature. But kinda lacked substance for me. But then again, maybe I’m just not cool enough.

It’s annoying, and the back cover actually contains spoilers. Stink! Get the Modern Library edition. Although, the appendix in the annotated edition is nice.

They are just the absolute best. Everything they do is brilliant… and it helps that this book is brilliant. BRILLIANT, I say!!
