i found this on a ferry :) it’s a bookcrossing book. (www.bookcrossing.com). it’s a great website promoting the share of books.
i’ve started reading a little bit of it, but i’ve temporarily stopped. i’m just not in the mood i guess…
Aaah, hello marmite.
Haha, this was actually my dad’s dvd. i tried watching it once when i was off school ill but got bored while brad and janet were still in the car. ok, i didn’t stick it out long…
i don’t know when i watched it through the first time, but i’ve watched it many times since ;)
As for the ‘marmite’ comment, i don’t know anyone that says, “well, it was ok…”. It’s either, *squeals and starts singing / dancing * or “that is seriously weird”. Haha.
Actually, i have another funny story about this. We used to have a little time to wait around before maths lessons last year in college, and we’d sit in a little corner. One day the topic of rhps came up, and those of us who’d seen it started singing and dancing and laughing in disbeleif that a certain friend hadn’t seen it (she is SO the type who would LOVE it). We were making a little too much noise and one of the maths teachers comes past and says something about too loud time warp, a little less rocky horror. i was like, “wow, cool maths teacher she knows it! haha”
Ramble over, but i’m going to see it in september! *eeeeee *

ok, so i saw this book in a charity shop, and wanted to know more about Kuwait, so i got it. i thought it would be really tough to read, and obviously it’s never going to be… nice, but it wasn’t horrifying. i’m sure that what happened was really much worse, but the author felt it unnecessary or counter-productive to go into gory detail.
Overall, it has made me want to know more about the country itself, about the horrible things in war, and the politics behind it (and how a situation like that can be avoided).
its a great story, but unfortunately not accurate. i cant explain very well, but there is information at this website: http://www.immortalgeisha.com/faq_memoirs_geisha.php
highly reccomend this film, i thought pumpkin was exactly as i imagined.
(of course its always best to read the book first!)
