I love the imagery, the character interplay, the chemistry, and the story of the transition from prejudice to acceptance in a small french village. The Romantic interplay, the bits of humor, and the bits of seriousness wrapped up in a good hearted story makes this another favorite in my DVD collection.

This bit of reinvented Shakespeare is almost a theme in life for so much of life seems to almost parody it (Or is it the movie parodies life…?) I’ve seen the movie many times now that I have purchased the DVD. Its on my top 10 list.

What can one say about a lovely romantic tale full of good natured humor, selfless giving, destiny, quirky fun cinematic style and a wonderfully French irreverence for the sacred. Oh and the let us not forget the traveling Gnome and its photos home.

So, now when asked about the movie I answer “Where? When?”
