A novella in the Dark Hunter series featuring a dragon shapeshifter, Sebastian Kattalakis, and mideval scholar Channon MacRea. Good story, but too short IMO. I like Kenyon’s longer books.

The first in what I assume will be a series starring NYPD Lieutenant John W. Driscoll. Driscoll is after a serial killer who kills and de-bones his victims taking their heads, hands, and feet. Overall, I liked the mystery especially that while it’s mostly told from Driscoll’s POV you also get some of the killer’s POV. That said, there were some gaps in the book that were noticable.

Reread Cornwell’s first Scarpetta novel. It was good to re-read her early work where the mystery was first and things hadn’t gotten weird yet.

Excellent prequel to Peter Pan. Barry and Pearson “explain” how Peter the orphan came to be Peter Pan, where the lost boys come from, who Captain Hook is, and where Neverland is. Simply magical. I listed to the unabridged book on tape read by Jim Dale. Highly recommend.

Julie Powell cooked all 524 recipies, in Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking, during the course of a year. In Julie & Julia she recounts her adventures with cooking the recipies – several of these anecdotes are very funny – and how she blogged them which turned into a book deal and career as a food writer.

Kathy, our narrator, takes us through her childhood at Hailsham – an exclusive English boarding school. Kathy and her fellow students lead extraordinarily sheltered lives at the school, but something is amiss as to why they are there. An interesting tale of morality and ethics.

An adequate addition to the Betsy the Vampire Queen series. In this outing it’s Christmas time. Betsy and Sinclair continue their bickering. The usual cast of characters is around. The supposed plot is that their is a serial killer on the loose in Minneapolis, unfortunately, Davidson only brings this up at the beginning and then suddenly at the end it’s like she remembers that she needs to finish up that story line. It’s a light read, but far from the best in the series.

In this outing, Eragon the dragon rider and Saphira the dragon continue their journey and education with the Elves. A decent sequel to Eragon, but the book could have used a stronger hand at editing.

Barbie, a young girl, has a mother hell bent on Barbie being a model. Barbie doesn’t have much interest in it and a fairy named Mab helps her cope with her mother and the bad things that happen. Heartbreaking.
