Cal, Morgan and the rest of the group are now officially a Coven. Morgan’s powers continue to astound the rest of them, could she be a blood witch? Because of jealousy, Morgan is no longer friends with Bree.

The first book in the Sweep series introduces Morgan Rowlands. When a new student, Cal Blair, shows up a school his appearance changes her life forever. Cal is a witch and starts a coven where Morgan discovers she has a knack for magic. My only complaint about this book and the others I’ve read in the series is that the books abruptly end and then start right at the same point in the next book.

Second in the Midnighter’s series. In this one, Jessica Day has found her Midnighter power. Also, it’s not just slithers that are after Jessica and the rest of the gang, now humans also want to get them. Great addition to the series. Can’t wait for the next one.

Decent addition to Sands’ Argeneau vampire romance series. In this one, Lissianna Argeneau comes home on her birthday to find a guy tied up to her bed with a big red bow around his neck. She thinks he’s dinner, but actually her mom got her a psychologiest to help cure her hemophobia (fear of blood), something no vampire wants to have.

A few weeks after Jessica Day, and her family, moves to Bixby, OK she wakes up at Midnight to find that the light is blue and their are diamonds suspended in the air, that turn out to be frozen rain drops. It turns out that in Bixby, people born at the stroke of Midnight get an extra hour a day – the Secret Hour. The only catch, they share it with the slithers, evil beings that haunt the hour. Very cool story, first in a series.

Sequel to Uglies, Tally is now pretty but thinks that something might not be right. Can she figure it out in time before Special Circumstances gets her? Very good sequel to the first book. Can’t wait for the third in the trilogy coming this summer.

Excellent distopian story of a society where everyone gets plastic surgery at age 16 to become pretty. Prior to the surgery, teens age 12-15 live in Uglyville in dormatories. Tally meets Shay a few months before her operation and Shay tells her that some people don’t have the operation. Very interesting book, first in a trilogy.

I’m not sure why I read this, other than it was around the house. With the last book, I said I wouldn’t read any more of Cornwell’s Scarpetta mysteries and yet I did. It sucked. Over Christmas, I re-read Postmortem, the first book and remembered just how great they were. Major disappointment.

WORTH CONSUMING!

4/5 Stars
Dark-Hunter novel featuring shapeshifter Wren Tigarian, a ligard (half tiger/half snow leopard) and senator’s daughter Marguerite D’Aubert Goudeau. Excellent addition to the ongoing series. Wren is a very troubled orphan whom nobody wants. Marguerite (Maggie) is from a wealthy family and her father only wants the best for her. When she meets Wren at Sanctuary, sparks fly.
