Mmmmmmmmm… Franka Potente ...mmmmmmmmmm
I was never into anything that could be described as “country” before I heard this album. To me, bluegrass was just another quirky genre. It was this album that showed me that any kind of music, when done by world class artists, has the power to move one’s soul and shape one’s life. It is not the perfect album…there are a couple of duds on it, to my mind…but there are also songs that defy description. Think you’ve heard “Greensleeves” before? Think again. Think “House of the Rising Sun” is just another honky tonk tune? Check it out. Think “Tennessee Stud” is a simplistic folk tune? Prepare to be enlightened.
This may well be the best movie ever filmed. Stellar performances from Daniel Day-Lewis (Hawkeye), Madeline Stowe (Cora), and Wes Studi as the malevolent Magua, packaged with stunning photography and a soundtrack that actually enhances the film.
