Although I despise Ken Loach I couldn’t argue that he’s made some fine films,this is one of them.I can’t imagine many non-Brits would like it,maybe I’m wrong.The football scene with Brian Glover is excellent and it certainly feels,”authentic” whatever that is.Fine film and still worth watching.

Been so long that I can’t remember much about it, beyond that I was mildly disappointed, I’d expected more,I most reread it.
One thing with all the global warming fears can someone explain to me how Cromwell caught malaria,allegedly,in Ireland?If you haven’t been to Ireland recently it’s freezing and no mosquito would be seen dead there so how come Cromwell came a cropper?

Maybe it doesn’t make me want to rush out and shoot someone who I consider a phoney,Bono is too obvious,but it does make me want to reread every couple of years.Simply a must read of English Literature.

Robin Williams is in it,surely that is enough of an indication that you can find a better way to spend a couple of hours,browsing dull internet sites or whatever

Churchill famously used “ghosts” to help him when writing so I always ask myself,did he actually write what I’m reading?Why didn’t this fact preclude him from winning the Nobel prize?Can anyone be really sure what he did and didn’t write.
Still,these volumes always make an interesting read when you fancy picking up one and looking over a chapter.

Inventive,humorous,different,with unforgetable characters,so how did we say catch 22 before this book?
