WORTH CONSUMING!

How many best films lists is this on?Amazing, have people watched it recently? This humble writer thought it was an embarrassment,it’s meant to be a violent thriller, aye right, try watching this after the Sopranos.
Michael Caine looks cool, not a lot of people know that, but the sex scenes are cringeworthy, the telephone sex being the low point of the film for me.
So,why do I think it’s worth watching? To see the lost country of the past, a Britain that no longer exists, and a world that if it ever existed has also disappeared.
Enjoy

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I just can’t believe that anyone would enjoy listening to this today, whereas I do like Tom Waits and some Frank Zappa, I won’t be bothering with this again.
Captain Beefheart you’ve had your 15 minutes.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Of course there was once a time when an album was more than a couple of hits and various fillers, this came from such a time.Every song is worth listening to,and of course the classics,Silver,The Killing Moon,Seven Seas,Crystal Days and Ocean Rain.
Mac was right,love that song

WORTH CONSUMING!

You don’t have to be a dopehead LSD popper to appreciate the cultural effect of the merry pranksters and Ken Kesey, this book gives a feel to what they were at and how they worked. It also mentions the harmful effect that the drugs had on some,so it’s not just some hagiography.
What I liked about the book as well was the sense of group, coming together, making friends, falling out,who can’t relate that to their own life?It remembered me of American Graffiti, with drugs.
Whether you agree with the change or not the characters in this book changed Western popular culture and this is a fitting tribute to them.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Malcolm Mcdowell, public schools, bren guns, sex, motorbikes, what more does a film need to be worthy of cult status?
We live in a post-Columbine world, yet this shows how the violent urge was nothing new,of course most of us are sane enough to realise that whatever injustices we face a massacre isn’t the answer, but this film shows how the desire is always there.
Imagine a director making something like this today,I mean a call to kill the establishment,no ifs or buts, shoot them, makes Michael Moore look quaint.
A must see.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I hadn’t seen this for so long I’d forgotten how similar it is in many ways,or at least I think so,to Pulp Fiction with the humorous dialogues and off beat characters.Definately worth the admission

WORTH CONSUMING!

31 years is a long time and that’s how long Low has been with us.I can’t remember it from my youth, what happened there?I grew up loving Bowie, who didn’t?This, apparently, was very influential, and this is my point,31 years ago maybe, probably it was different and made people think about what music could do,today?I can’t help thinking it’s a lesser work from a great artist, hate that word
