WORTH CONSUMING!

So Martin did you find true love?Perhaps if you hadn’t looked like such a smug whatever it would have been easier, but then again looks don’t matter,do they?

This was the Brit version, slight differences to the US version, was the first”mod” record I bought,as opposed to rock. What bloody stupid terminology.Prefer this cover to the American one

WORTH CONSUMING!

I read that while DDL was shooting the film he insisted on staying in the role all day as part of his method, this included being carried to the toilet and having his bottom cleaned. If this is true,a big if,he is a twat and will be one of the first actors up against the wall when I’m named world benevolent leader and dictator.Good performance as Christy Brown, though.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Very nice, indeed, very easy listening, just one thought, are the songs not all a tad similar?Sinatra had a great voice that’s clear but is he stretching himself here?

A story about "How Green Was My Valley" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Apparently the book which inspired this was a figment of its author’s imagination, add to that the Hollywood touch and you can hardly expect social realism, look at those miners’ cottages and the meals they ate!
OK the pro union comments and mention of workers conditions were probably provocative at the time,as would have been the attack on strident religious beliefs, but all seems quite tame today.
It is worth watching to see this Hollywood version of the past which I am sure never existed and to see Maureen O’Hara, don’t forget to enjoy the wooden delivery of their dialogue by her brothers in the film, classic.
As a footnote it’s good that people don’t have to go down the mines anymore in Wales, although of course that was nothing to do with workers health or conditions just hard economics and was a disaster for those who lost their jobs.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Good grief this is appalling.I don’t care what list you’re working on it’s not worth wasting an hour and a half of your life on this, sit in a bath of cold water with the light off it’s better fun.Well,ok there is a certain rockyhorrorshowesque pleasure of watching the unwatchable but really, this is beyond kitsch, dire in the extreme.

A story about "Sun" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Anyone from the British Isles knows that despite all the bad press its had recently, skin cancer, the sun is great.Give me a nice piece of grass to lie on on a sunny afternoon, someone to talk to and the BBC on the radio, nirvana.
Get it while you can,but don’t forget the lotion

WORTH CONSUMING!

I wouldn’t have thought that a couple of memorable tracks did enough to make this one of the 100 greatest British albums of all time, but there you are.
Shaun is a good example of why not to take drugs, check out 24 hour party people the film if you haven’t seen it.
