A story about the last time I consumed "Mighty Like a Rose"

Mighty Like a Rose

by Elvis Costello

I bought this cd years ago at a used cd place in Bellingham, WA for $6.99 or something like that. I have since lost the cd. The week before last when Elvis Costello finally became available on iTunes I downloaded this album. This might be my favorite EC album. It is so angry and raw and sad. I’m so glad I bought it again cuase it rocks.

But I am horribly allergic – hence the “not worth consuming”. But YOU should comsume them because they are yummy!

By the time we left we though this was the funniest movie we had ever seen because they were big, strong drinks. Unfortunately we had forgotten that they were also carbonated so when we opened our big, strong, carbonated drinks they erupted all over us and the floor of the theater. It was summer and we wearing shorts and tank tops. When the movie ended and we left we were drunk and sticky.

A story about the last time I consumed "hot & sour soup"

This instant crap is not so good and it kind of made my tummy hurt. I don’t think I am going to eat the rest of it.

Mostly based on the fact that it was his very first – so it was a good place to start when I began building my Elvis Costello collection. If I were to choose only one EC album that changed my life, I’d go with this one.

I was 13 the first time I heard it. It was the first album that changed my life and there has not been another one to compare since. Although Bleach was the very first Nirvana album I ever heard (thanks to my brother, Josh) Nevermind is definitely the one that became a part of my daily existence. This album, unlike any other, became the soundtrack for my entire adolescence.

The Rev is inches ahead of The Brian Setzer Orchestra for most rocking Christmas tunes on my iPod, this week. It goes back and forth between the two.

This one of my very fovorite books. It is very sweet and sad, too. I think it is a classic for young adults. I read it in 8th grade for a book report, on a suggestion from my mother as it was one of her favorites and it became one mine. I’ve watched the moveie about million times simce then, as well. I wouldn’t recommend it for kids younger than adolescence since it does deal with the issues of death and alcoholism.

It utterly changed my life the first time I read it. I think it was one of two books, the other being Little Women, that actually made me cry. I think I my understanding of romantic love began to take root when I read Jane Eyre. It is easily in my top five favorite novels of all time. I want to go read it right now!

I bought the paperback edition so I am about one-third of the way through the first book. I find it to be very interesting, if a little comtrived at times. I had seen President Clinton speak in person and was amazed on that occasion at how engaging he is. I don’t think his writing is as elegant and engaging as his speaking style. Still, a very interesting book, I have enjoyed what I have read so far and look froward to reading the rest. President Clinton seems to be a very thoughtful man and I appreciate his perspective. I am not usually intereted in autobiographies and this one holds my attention.
