Is it more pleasurable to dream of escape than to actually do it? In the “Art of Travel” de Botton refers to the lives of artists and writers like Flaubert, Wordsworth, Rushkin, and Hopper to illustrate the psychology of travel. I really enjoyed this book.

I hunted down this album because of the hauntingly gorgeous song “Breathe Me” by SiA. Gorgeous.

Sex, drugs, blackmail, paternity questions – the lifestyles of the heartbroken and heartless newly rich. Like Deperate Housewives without the irony. BBC America is airing the first season now. (I think they’re up to season 5 or 6 in the UK…)

This album is addictive!

Sally is an engaging heroine in Wodehouse’s social comedy set in 1920s Manhattan.

I read Reichl’s first memoir “Tender at the Bone” before reading this second effort. She’s a writer who describes a meal so well that you can almost taste it.

I found cetain passages almost heartbreakingly beautiful, though the plot and pacing weren’t gripping.

It’s worth checking out this memoir if you are interested in the intersection of food and personal history.

I truly enjoyed this book. Precious Ramotswe is an engaging and interesting protagonist. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Funny, sweet, well-written – this book will make you a Nick Hornby fan.
