WORTH CONSUMING!

I know no one else ever feels this way, but I’m daring to say I like the U.S. version better. This is still a really great show, but I love Steve Carrell, and I relate more to that version, being an office worker(cringe) in the U.S. and all. People always say “well you must not have a sophisticated sense of humor” or “you just don’t get British humour,” but I love British humor and pretty much anything British and I still think the show’s hilarious and Ricky Gervais is brilliant, but it baffles me why no one thinks the U.S. version is funny. Just putting it out there.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love Cary Grant. I love Hitchcock. So it was a satisfying film, although North By Northwest is still tops.

WORTH CONSUMING!

When I read about the whole J.T. Leroy hoax thing I had to read this book. It was rough stuff, but I thought it was well-written and it definitely kept my interest. However, I think I would’ve liked it even more if I was under the (false) impression that the author had really been through all of these things and lived to tell the story. But it was really just some rich white woman. I guess that’s why it was a great marketing scheme.

A review of "Lilja 4-ever (Lilya 4-ever) [ NON-USA FORMAT, PAL, Reg.2 Import - Sweden ]" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was a very sad and depressing film. And usually I’m all for sad and depressing films. But it seemed so devoid of hope that at times it was difficult to watch. The story was very engaging, and the actress who played Lilya was very good, she initially seemed somewhat tough, but she had this vulnurability about her that made me feel bad about what was happening to her. The film’s message (if I can even assume it has a message) is bleak and when I finished watching my first reaction was a negative one. But then I got to thinking. Nowadays, it seems like I watch so many bad movies that don’t make me think or feel in any way, so I have to reccomend this film because it provoked a reaction in me, disturbing as it may be.
