It’s possible that this will turn out to be brilliant, but for now I’m reserving judgment. I can’t figure out how old the narrative voice is supposed to be, which bothers me.

On loan from Hal, something I’ve been meaning to read for ages. I can’t remember the last time I read a short story collection.

A little too clever-clever, but enjoyable. I didn’t believe in the number of highly intelligent, interesting, eccentric people, though. ;-)
Wondering if I can start and finish this tonight, in time for Hedgehog discussion tomorrow. It’s been a while since I’ve done that, but it could be fun.

It’s been a while since I’ve read any Science Fiction. This looks like it might be a bit Vonnegut-y.
I’m enjoying this immensely. I had no idea Boston was a huge candy city in the 50’s!
This is very different in style than anything I’ve been reading lately; very elegant and adult and complicated in its syntax. I’m honestly not sure I’m up for it at the moment, but I’l give it a go. So far the situation/characters have not immediately struck me.
