Why I recommend "Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna :Abridged Edition"

Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna :Abridged Edition

This book is amazing. Great reading, inspiring, and full of bhakti. If you like reading about the lives of saints, Daughter Of Fire is another amazing book.

Why I recommend "Honky Chateau"

Honky Chateau

by Elton John

The track ‘Mellow’ is great. The lyric “wreckin’ the sheets real fine” is a great image, as is “Oh I love your Roman nose / and the way you curl your toes, baby / you make me feel so mellow!”

Why I recommend "The Mote in God's Eye"

The Mote in God's Eye

by Larry Niven

This is one of the penultimate ‘first contact’ novels of the genre. It’s brilliant, albeit a little dated these days <del>- the boy/girl roles read a little stilted and fifties-retro -</del> but the physical and social design of the aliens is amazing. They’re not bilaterally symmetrical, but they’re completely internally consistent. If you haven’t read The Mote In God’s Eye, do yourself a favor and do it!

Why I recommend "Extending the Table: A World Community Cookbook"

Extending the Table: A World Community Cookbook

by Joetta Handrich Schlabach

This is a fantastic cookbook. From it I’ve learned more about Indian and Middle Eastern cooking. I use the curry, tabbouli, bread, and chai recipes all the time.

Interspersed between the recipes are heartwrending stories about poverty-stricken individuals from other cultures and how they taught the author/s about qualities such as hospitality and sacrifice.

I love this cookbook.

A story about "Catch-22"

If you haven’t read it, you should. It’s painful, and funny, and painfully funny. I laughed so hard I cried more than once.
