A story about "New York City Hardcore" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This record served as an excellent gateway to all the NYC Hardcore bands when I was a kid. I specifically remember writing a letter to pretty much every band that was featured on this LP and always getting something back. To this day I still have many of these bands first demo recordings because of the early correspondence. And it made for some nice conversations when some of them eventually played in Pittsburgh later.

Great, under-appreciated record — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

You like metal? Check this one out. This is one under-rated lp. Can’t say that their other releases are as good as this, but this one is awesome!

(The name is spelled wrong here though, it should be In Aeternum)

A story about "Not Richard But Dick" — 2 years ago

(psst… there is a song on here called “jason’s head”. It’s about me! Honest!)

A story about "Attera Totus Sanctus" — 2 years ago

You can play every Dark Funeral album in a row and not be able to tell any difference. If anything, these dudes are consistent. Lord Ahriman needs to go on a serious diet though.

A story about "Split" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I would argue that the Crebain side of this split may be the stronger half…

Great Live Recording — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a fantastic live recording. Usually live albums are just your basic live set, but this one stands out. It’s a fantastic recording and a good listen… it’s a live recording worth checking out.

How "Who's Got the 10½?" changed my life — 2 years ago

This was the first “punk rock” record I ever heard, and ever since that day my entire life was changed.

20 Years later, I realize that this was not the strongest Black Flag release, and it’s far from my favorite, but it still holds a strong respect from me…

WORTH CONSUMING!

This entire record is simply amazing.

Also: Side two is some of the best music ever laid on vinyl.

A story about "Making Enemies Is Good" — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I really like the Backyard Babies, but this release was way too cheesy for me. It seems like these dudes put out a good release every other record. This was one of those ones that was just a little too much for my tastes. Some good tunes, but just, I don’t know.. like i said… cheesy.
