Strange, beautiful, tragic, and definitely not what you expect.
A remarkably complex book – I read it as an attack on the institution of modern psychiatry, but possibly I’m only reading my own peculiarities into it. There are enough ideas in it, despite its length (about the same as an over-excited teenager’s first sexual experience), to keep anyone reading.
An absolutely brilliant read – at least if you like some Lovecraft in your spy thrillers. I know I do.
I barely managed to finish a single chapter before becoming so revolted by what they’ve done with Frank Herbert’s legacy that I had to stop reading.
Approached with reluctance, embarrassment and trepidation. Expectations are low.
Funny (as are all texts mentioning the word “Nixon”), but this man is no Philip K. Dick.
Absolutely brilliant vision of the Britpopular Revolution.
