This book has really reinvigorated my music listening. The diversity of interview subjects (over 100) is wonderful—something for everyone.

I respect Stewart Brand a lot, but it’s pretty hard to pick this book up in 2002, fifteen years after it was originally published. Maybe some day I’ll be in a more historical mode and I’ll be able to get through it
