Great epic movie about life. to live is just trying to survive.

very hilarious. a bit like the American Pie trilogy.

depressing story

I love Cherie Chung from this movie. Great love story and thriller… She got great chemistry with Chow Yun Fatt as usual.

Great love story. sad and touching. It could be boring if you don’t understand the underlying currents in the story. The conflict between the individuals’ desires and feelings vs the written and unwritten rules of society. Li Mu Bai play by Chow and the character play by Michelle Yeoh are in love but they haven’t consumed their love all these time because the society’s code at that time have put some distance between their relationship as she was his best friend’s widow. They are so clearly in love, it was only towards the end that they sort of expressed their love for each other…While Zhang Zi Yi and Zhang Zheng yue represented young love that was passionate, but Zhang Zi Yi was also interested in Chow Yun Fatt’s Li Mu Bai. But their’s was like a Teacher and Student relationship, and for Li Mu Bai who always followed society’s rules, he maintained his distance. He was in love with Michelle Yeoh’s character but he seldom expressed his true feelings…

you will realise what a tragic movie it is towards the end. they have such a sweet time in the beginning and how it ended so horribly.
