The show Combien tu m’aimes? is rated r21 in Singapore, there are some nudity and sexual reference. The English title is “How much do you love me?” the show is in French with English subtitle. It is about an office worker with a weak heart, Francois who is interested in a hooker Daniela played by the sexy Monica Bellucci . He claimed that he had won the lottery and he would offer her 100,000 euros a month till the money runs out if she stay with him and become his ‘wife’. It is a silly show that is funny in some parts. Also starring Gerald Depardieu.
watch it again. It is a great love story set amidst a troubling time and how the individuals struggle to live and love amidst all the changes. the music Lara’s Theme set the tone of the film.
The Snows of Kilimanjaro based on the stories of Ernest Hemingway. It tells the tale of a writer and adventurer Harry Street (played by Gregory Peck) who is seriously injured and in delirium at the foot of one of Africa’s highest peak Kilimanjaro. His wife Helen played by Susan Hayward tended to his wounds. He began to recollect the love of his life Cynthia Green played by Ava Gardner which was the holy grail in his life, his second wife Countess Liz played by Hildegard Knef, he also thought that he had compromised his talents. His wife try to keep him alive and to keep his spirits up till help arrived…and maybe she will be his last chance for love and happiness….
One riddle that was something left by his uncle is
Kilimanjaro is a snow-covered mountain 19,710 feet high, and is said to be the highest mountain in Africa. Its western summit is called the Masai ‘Ngaje Ngai,’ the House of God. Close to the western summit there is the dried and frozen carcass of a leopard. No one has explained what the leopard was seeking at that altitude.
Harry Street supposedly have found the answer and that was why he went to Kilimanjaro….
Good acting by Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner.
a parody of some movies. not just horror movies. stupid but kinda funny. too many sexual reference. a lot of physical slapstick.
This movie also known as A season for love. It comprises 3 stories about relationships. The theme abt communication or lack of communication. And how misunderstanding arose when both didn’t communicate their true feelings in time.
Synopsis
Kwon Sang Woo and Kim Ha Neul, the popular stars of 2003’s hit film My Tutor Friend reunite for writer/director Lee Han’s 2005 romantic comedy, Almost Love! The two actors play Ji Hwan and Dal Rae, a pair of friends who grew up together in the same neighborhood and have been platonic pals ever since childhood. While Taekwondo student turned stuntman, Ji Hwan (Kwon Sang Woo) wishes to follow in the footsteps of his hero, action movie icon Jackie Chan, drama student Dal Rae (Kim Ha Neul) would like nothing more than to become an actress, although her eternal shyness during the audition process continually prevents her from landing any plum acting roles.
Although the two of them bicker incessantly, there’s a mischievous, altogether playful quality to their arguments, and as the film develops, it becomes clear that they are great friends with a deep affection for one another. However, their friendship takes a turn for the worse when they each begin dating other people: Dal Rae starts seeing a handsome, athletic young man who happens to be a fellow member of Ji Hwan’s Taekwondo group, while Ji Hwan himself begins going out with a gorgeous young woman with a figure to die for. It would seem that there shouldn’t be any issue between these two about dating other people, but as soon as they embark on these new relationships, things start to get weird for these once good friends! It seems that everybody knows their relationship is so much more than friendship, except Ji Hwan and Dal Rae themselves! Will they figure out their own feelings in time, before it’s too late?
the problem with the movie is the employment of the device of the narrator. it doesn’t involve the audience as much. There seem to be some distance in the story. Lack of emotion centre. You don’t feel for the character as much. Claire Danes’ performance is good in this show. Though she seem to underact…
Not a worthy follow up to the other sequels. No cohesive ensemble acting. They have supposedly combined two of the comic stories. There is not enough development of characters.
