when i forst started reading this i wasn’t too enthused. i didn’t finish in time for book club, big surprise, but this time because i didn’t like the book. i thought elvis cole was trying to hard to be philip marlowe. the humnor felt forced and i couldn’t get past the disney stuff strown throughout his office. how could i take a man seriously with a pinnocchio clock hanging from the wall? let alone a private investigator. i’m glad i stuck it out. i was satisfied with crais’ explaination of cole’s lovve of disney. i even smirked at the meaning behind his unusual first name. i also developed a major crush on joe pike. i am always impressed when an author has the ability to make me fall for one of their characters. i’m smitten.

epic movie for an epic story. i agree with the other posts that this isn’t accurate but was fun to watch, at least for me. i didn’t start to cringe until paris’ duel. i lost complete respect for him. my only other real cringe factor was how achilles died. heel. guys, it was the only part of him that wasn’t dipped into the river styx. mere arrows to the chest wouldn’t be his demise.
