One of the best known Malay dishes in Asia. There are many variations e.g. Thai, Indonesian and Malaysian. Basically, marinated pieces of meat are skewered onto thin wooden sticks and barbecued. Served with spicy peanut sauce, cooling cucumber, onions and some compressed rice called ketupat. Yummy! One of the best places to try this in Singapore is at Lau Pa Sat, an open-air eatery in the heart of the CBD area.

Not really of a fan of science fiction novels but found this quite readable. The setting and pacing is quite good. Had lots of interesting futuristic ideas such as deadheading and Whuffie (instead of money). However, found the storyline to be a it of a letdown.

Sequel to Koi Mil Gaya, this looks to be an action-adventure superhero movie, should be interesting. (More on Krrish)

Crossing time periods, various exotic countries, and different perspectives, The Historian is an epic tale about the hunt for the truth on Vlad Tepes III, otherwise known as Dracula. With an imaginative plot and wonderful prose, The Historian is a good read, although it gets abit draggy at some parts.

Had to read this as part of my work at the library. It’s a good teen read, with the usual teen topics – growing up, friendship, school life and family, all set in a supernatural plot. Easy reading for the wkend.
