WORTH CONSUMING!

Stephen Fry is my hero, so I’m a bit biased. I first read this when I was fifteen, but I found it at a used book store a few weeks ago, and picked it up and read it again. LOVE. So funny, so clever. Classic Fry. As a fifteen-year-old, I was grossed out by some things, but it’s not so traumatising as an adult. ;)

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It was… interesting. No, really! I liked the underlyring themes, and it wasn’t that gross. It certainly was no American Psycho, heh. But while I mainly enjoyed the story, it wasn’t that great otherwise.

I love P.G. Wodehouse. This is my first time reading anything outside the Jeeves stories.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I wasn’t sure how I felt about it when I first finished reading, but now I love it. The ending is awesome.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I absolutely adored this book. Wasn’t very fond of the ending though. However, it did surprise me not only story-wise, but also because it suddenly made me realize how much work went the writing of the book. The author is a very talented man. Other than that, I loved the writing style, loved the attention to detail, loved the characters and the settings. Great novel.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I honestly found the first three quarters of the book a little boring, but that could be because I didn’t especially feel like reading the book—someone was making me. The ending made up for it though. I didn’t see it coming. Overall, it was pretty enjoyable.

WORTH CONSUMING!

The casual violence (like, “Went to the store, killed a puppy, got a massage…”) and the longer, graphic murder scenes definitely taking some getting used to. But I’m half-way through and I’m really liking it. I think the violence and even the sometimes-tedious descriptions are necessary for the telling of the story, and to get the message across.
