Worth consuming, but lame conclusion. — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book is insightful in regards to the psychology of happiness, but this is not a self-help book. My favorite chapter dealt with recalling memory and creating imaginations, and gave little diagrams to show which sensory areas of the brain were in use during both activities. Gilbert writes with humor, although sometimes it is of the cheesy, professorial sort.

I won’t spoil the ending, but I will say it was unnecessarily pat. Overall, worth the read. :)

WORTH CONSUMING!

There’s just no reason! I finally purchased this album last week… ecstacy. At once quiet, somber, and intense—perfect for a rainy springtime afternoon or an autumn drive. Much more memorable than any new release music I’ve heard recently.

Why I recommend "From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs Basil E.Frankweiler" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I read this when I was a kid, and I picked it up again a couple of months ago. A brother and a sister run away from home and hide out in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, solving an art history mystery. Hell, that sounds like the most fun thing ever NOW, and I’m 26.

Too much history. Not enough current application. — 2 years ago

Supposedly this book was to link the Freemasons and other secret societies to the 9/11 bombings and the powers at work today. It wasn’t so simple as that. Instead I got a dry historical discourse on the history of gnosticism and its contrived link to Freemasonry. Sure, it was interesting, but every chapter seemed to have a Scooby-Doo ending ”...or was something more sinister in play?”

It’s ok if you like conspiratorial, historical non-fiction. Ho hum.
