he writes how other people think; it’s brilliant.
nearly perfect. like riding a carousel but with life and death and time instead of the usual horses.
s’gorgeous, all about home and faraway places and empires and the mechanics of sound and invisibility.
quick, after the first two pages. frustrating, in a good way, because it keep flipping between stories and i got impatient about both of them.
read it for class. it’s fine, for a page. or a chapter, or three. after that, tho, a prime example of the bambi syndrome.
s’good, charming, very pretty. two complaints—there’s twice as much about the setting as the characters, which feels off-balanced, and there are so many clauses that her sentences often get lost in themselves. it’s sweet, though.
s’interesting. the memoir and the story and the entire-history-of-Iran keep getting mixed up, don’t know whether it’s good or bad.
Great. Absolutely hilarious, a lot more stomach-able than some of his others.
beautiful, absolutely enchanting. a li’l frustrated with the ending but don’t let that discourage you, it’s incredible.
