A story about "Persuasion (Penguin Classics)" — 3 years ago
Definitely my favourite of all Jane Austen’s books…
I'm currently reading 1 book, listening to 0 albums, watching 0 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.
fella hasn't consumed anything recently.
Definitely my favourite of all Jane Austen’s books…
An okay album with a couple songs that really stand out, especially In Spite of All the Damage... a really lovely song.
one of my favourite books from childhood… a great plot with many twists and lots of humour.
A fantastic documentary about the development of the gay and lesbian community in the US. Very well done with articulate interviewees and wonderful archival footage.
a quick but beautiful read… one of my favourite sections in the book, “If there were a silent observer, Mirabelle would be seen as a carefree, happy girl who is preparing for a night on the town. But in reality, these activities are the physical manifestations of her stillness.”
One of those fabulous Costco book table purchases. This is my favourite of all of John Irving novels (it was also the first novel of his that I read). His characters are still conflicted… but not in such an odd way that they are unidentifable.
The best element of the book… the photographs of the two boys.
This novel was recently made into a feature film called “A Door in the Floor” with Jeff Bridges. I was disappointed with what I saw of the film, but that was to be expected.
Beautiful prose but filled with plot holes… Glad that I borrowed rather than bought.
amusing, I enjoyed Adams’ style… I liked it and have to read the rest of the series.
A friend recommended this book to me. I quite enjoyed Sedaris’ perspective and witty commentary of his life. I’ve also borrowed Holidays on Ice from the same friend and hope that it is also a very drole read.
it’s funnier if you try to read in Steve Martin’s voice… there are some amusing bits, but not enough to make me rave about this book.
