Excellent, in-depth narrative of the first 40-50 years of the colonization of Mars. Robinson’s science is excellent and equal to his insights into the human condition.
So far, so good—KSR has done his research.
Wow. The first story alone makes this collection worthwhile. The rest do a fine job too.
An eye-opening and multidisciplinary journey through the history of cybernetics and information theory, with some literature and physics thrown in at relevant moments.
I’m keeping this at my side as a companion to KSR’s Red Mars. I’m also keeping a National Geographic map handy.
