A story about "Wittgenstein in 90 Minutes (Philosophers in 90 Minutes)" — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

When I sold all my books at Half-Price, I picked up this small book on my way out. 90 minutes is a bit of an exaggeration. It’s closer to 30 minutes, and I’m even a slow reader. Still, an enjoyable quick read.

A story about "Society of Mind" — 5 years ago

Brilliant so far, however, I can only read a few pages at a time before my brain refuses to soak up any more.

A story about "Mind Wide Open: Your Brain and the Neuroscience of Everyday Life" — 5 years ago

I have the very clear impression that this is “popular science writing for the masses” but it’s honest and investigative and is actually teaching me a lot about the ever fascinating subject of the brain. I’m looking forward to seeing Steven Johnson speak at Amazon.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A good half hour read. I liked that he used Wittgenstein as an example. Further proof that all of the people I like are somehow connected to good old Ludwig.

A story about "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle: A Novel" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Almost finished it at my table while eating rice and vegetables, but on my walk home I felt like the walk was taking too long and therefore was forced to step into the Barnes & Noble bookstore on Pine and 6th or so and read it from the shelf.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Jimmy liked this book and had been talking it up for a long time. I was quite excited to begin it… and despite a somewhat slow start, this main character is growing on me. He’s so odd. Almost to the end now, I’m curious to see if this is one of those books that ties everything together, or one of those books that let’s everything remain untied together.

A great movie to watch when you’re drinking the water late at night and passing out on the couch in your clothes.
