A bit cheesy, but still fun. Good, clean entertainment.
The story of this movie was well-written. Good dialogue, believeable situations. Really suspenseful :-)
JKR has proved yet again that she is a master in the art of story-telling. To be honest, I wasn’t real impressed when I started into this book – I realized later that this was mostly because I was so used to starting each book at Privet Drive, with Harry. Now I am grateful for her deviation from the norm.
The story took you where you knew it was going – there were obvious heralds of the ending all the way through – but when you got to the climax, which you knew was coming, it was still so wrenching. I bawled like a baby!
At the same time, there were more fine and subtle hints about where this story is going next <> The obvious is a show-down between Harry & Voldemort, what’s not so obvious are where all the substories are going:
WARNING – possible SPOILERS . . .
Malfoy misses his chance at redemption – did that seal his fate?
Is Snape really loyal to Dumbledor or Voldemort? (I’m convinced now that Snape is fully loyal to Dumbledor)
Why is Snape so cruel to Harry? (I think we’ll find it has something to do with Snape’s mom)
OK – SPOILERSDONE :-)
I’m really looking forward to the next book – just really bummed it’s going to be so long before we get it!
