Why I recommend "Howl's Moving Castle" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

specifically to erik- you will love this because it deals a lot with the elderly in it and the day-to-day plight of the elderly. i still liked spirited away the best though.

A story about "Lord Vishnu's Love Handles: A Spy Novel (Sort Of)" — 6 years ago

The author is friends with my aunt. The first few chapters have a Murakami-ish tinge to them which bodes well for the book.

Nothing New — 7 years ago

Everything about this movie is more or less predictable, and I can’t say that I left this movie knowing any more than before. It’s somewhat clumsily constructed, clearly low-budget, and has no great insights. I agree with their viewpoint, but they could’ve just put two episodes of the O’Reilly Factor on this tape and titled it Outfoxed and it would’ve made its point nearly as strongly.

Tom Cruise ruins the ending — 7 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Ken Watanabe is so great to watch, but Tom Cruise is so… Tom Cruise. And the ending is really annoying. I think Yojimbo by Akira Kurosawa is the better way to go.

Why I recommend "Homemade Mabo Tofu" — 7 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It is so fast, tasty, and easy. And filling. It’s maybe my favorite way to consume tofu.

A review of "Kafka on the Shore" — 7 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I waivered back and forth on whether or not to give this book the thumbs up or the thumbs down. Ultimately, I’m happy that I read it. I guess there’s perhaps a ridiculously high standard after Wind-up Bird.

A story about "Untitled Composition for Cello & Piano, 1981" — 7 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I consumed this at McIntire’s folks house on our week-long sebbatical and found it odd and mildly disturbing at first but grew to love it. I used to play it occassionally at Cafe Septieme to a usually negative reception, but it is the ultimate music for focusing and concentrating. I’m convinced it enables speed-reading and deep meditation. I miss it and want to own it.

A story about "Kafka on the Shore" — 7 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

So far so good. I put down the Sheep Chase, but seem to be having better luck with this one. One character actually has conversations with cats- two-way conversations. Curious.

Why I recommend ""left-over turkey" soup" — 7 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

i think that the things you do with a left-over turkey are better than the things you do with the fresh bird. personally. besides, the soup does away with the gummy dryness quality of the turkey. gummy dryness.
