Why I recommend "Thought and Language" — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A word does not refer to a single object but to a group or to a class of objects. Each word is therefore already a generalization. Generalization is a verbal act of thought and reflects reality quite another way than sensation and perception reflect it. Such a qualitative difference is implied in the proposition that there is a dialectic leap not only between total absence of consciousness (in inanimate matter) and sensation but also between sensation and thought. There is every reason to suppose that the qualitative distinction between sensation and thought is the presence in the latter of a generalized reflection of reality, which is also the essence of word meaning; and consequently that meaning is an act of thought in the full sense of the term. But at the same time, meaning is an inalienable part of word as such, and thus it belongs in the realm of language as much as in the realm of thought. A word without meaning is an empty sound, no longer a part of human speech. Since word meaning is both thought and speech, we find in it the unit of verbal thought we are looking for (5).

A question I have about "High School Confidential: Secrets of an Undercover Student" — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I wonder how much of the story is true.

I also wonder what happened to the characters. There needs to be an update.

Yum! — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I bought the nacho flavor as my introduction to Follow Your Heart vegan cheese.

It melts, it shreds, the texture is good. The nacho flavor is slightly spicy with tiny chopped peppers inside, but nothing bad. Great with broccoli and nachos!

Next, I will try the mozzarella.

A story about "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie is rather long (nearly 3 hours) but it’s absolutely stunning visually. I’m not much of a Pirates fan (I went with my boyfriend who is) but it’s worth a watch, especially if you’re into the Pirates series.

Why I recommend "Skinny Bitch" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

They’re right on about getting dairy, sugar, and meat out of our diets and eating organic, natural foods.

Why I recommend "Cricket Cola" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Yum!

If you like soda and green tea, and soda + green tea, you’ll love this.

Complete waste of time — 6 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

My boyfriend picked this up at the movie store because it “is banned in 43 countries” and “just released in America”, or so the cover says.

The acting was horrible, the plot was predictable and equally horrible, and the gore was barely nonexistant. Granted, I don’t like gruesome movies or even horror movies for that matter, but my boyfriend who does hated this film.

Save yourself 85 minutes and don’t watch this.

Why I recommend "The Choke" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m an extra in this movie. It’s horribly cheesy and the acting isn’t so good, but you can see me dancing in the club with some of my friends!

A story about "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World: 75 Dairy-Free Recipes for Cupcakes that Rule" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

For Easter I made carrot cake cupcakes with lemony cream cheese frosting.

I took them to a brunch and they were a huge hit with everyone.

Yummy!
