The funniest book I’ve read in a long time. I especially enjoyed reading the chapter about taxes; I laughed my ass off.

Ricky Martin gets backs to the basics here—nothing along the lines of his Living la Vida Loca phase. Personally, I was never super fond of his music in English, so I’m glad to see him returning to Spanish.
but I finally finished it—and it took commitment too. Pamela, and everyone in the book, were quite the talkers. They went on and on and on and on…you get the picture. In the end, I liked it, but it was a tedious read.
When I bought this book, I imagined a biographical-type look at Nathan’s experience as a college freshman. So, I have to say I was a little dissappointed when it turned out to be an anthropological look at being a college freshman. But I stuck with it, and it brought back a lot of memories of when I was a college freshman ten years ago-and I was doing the exact same sorts of things that the students in the book did. In the end, I found this book helpful, because I teach college freshman-freshman english in fact—and I realized that it can be easy to forget the sorts of pressures that college freshman undergo. I’m going to look at this book again when I’m writing my next syllabus and planning my next semester of freshman english.
RBD is my guilty pleasure. It’s pure unadulterated unashamed pop music. Celestial is certainly no exception. And it’s got some good songs—Ser o Parecer, Besame Sin Miedo and Tal Vez Despues are my favorites. It’s a fun upbeat album. There’s also a bonus track at the end with snippets of their upcoming English language album, Rebels, and I have to say the bonus track didn’t get me excited about the album. Quite the opposite actually. I don’t think I’ll be buying the album.
In short, not as good as Rebelde, but better than Nuestro Amor
Loved the movie, it’s very meta-fictive. I’ll admit there were times that I felt like I was in class, but that made me feel kind of cool and intelligent. And I can only hope, that when I finish my PhD and I’m an English professor, I’ll have an office as nice as Dustin Hoffman’s (but with much better books).
I am reading this for a class, but it’s pretty good so far (not that the two are mutually exclusive though). As the title indicates, Pamela is, in fact, extremely virtuous, but not in an annoying way.
So far so good, but I’m only about 70 pages in.
It’s a visually stunning movie, and it’s so full of color. And you’d think that the modern soundtrack wouldn’t really work well with a biopic about an eighteenth century monarch, but it’s very effective. Go see it! It’s really good.
The End wasn’t my favorite Lemony Snicket book because I really did expect for more questions to be answered. However, some loose ends were tied up, and some of my questions were answered, so ultimately I’ll say this book was worth consuming. The End did leave me wondering if there’s more of something in store though.
I am on a romance high after watching this movie. Makes me love love.
