A story about "Plumed Serpent (Wordsworth Classics)" — 1 year ago
Really interesting look at Mexico, not to mention a really involving story. It also gave me a great idea for a paper! So, all in all, The Plumed Serpent, was a worthwhile read for me.

My professor took it off of my reading list—it’s not late eighteenth century enough I guess.
When I was a kid, I loved loved loved this show. I had the Jem dolls, I read the Jem books, and, of course, I watched the show religiously. And though twenty years later it seems a bit dated, it’s still super fun to watch—and relive a little bit of my childhood.
I love this show! Thanks to various sales and sweet deals at Target, I have all seven seasons. So now I’m watching the third season for the gazillionth time.
I love mine, I just wish I had more time to play it.
Watching this has let me relive a little bit of my childhood. I can honestly say that She-Ra still kicks butt, even twenty years later. She is the Princess of Power after all.
Initially I had only intended to watch this because it’s Star Trek-and as a loyal Trekkie I felt I should at least give this a watch. But I really really enjoyed watching these dvd’s. Ultimately the animated series really gets to the heart of Gene Roddenberry’s original conception of Star Trek-they’re really exploring strange new worlds and seeking out new civilizations. All in all Star Trek The Animated Series was a good really fun watch.
The Full Metal Alchemist movie takes place after the end of the Full Metal Alchemist series. It seeks to tie up all the lose ends, and it does a really good job at it—all while managing what I saw as a poetic ending. If you’re a fan of the anime, you should definitely watch this movie.
When La Madrastra was on television a couple of years ago, I was an avid fan. The novela was fun to watch and incredibly addictive, so I was delighted when I discovered that it had been released on dvd. The dvd condenses the show down to roughly 11 hours, so unfortunatley it leaves out some of my favorite parts of the novela, like the bulk Angel and Alma’s romance for example. It also gets confusing at times, referring to things that happened in the novela but that aren’t present on the dvd. The overall feeling of the dvd is therefore of sloppy editing. There are English subtitles, which is great, but they’re not always the best translations. However, all in all, I really enjoyed watching the novela again, but I’m not sure that newcomers to La Madrastra would quite understand what’s going on.
This book seemed only slightly different in plot and scope from The Devil Wears Prada. Both protagonists are doing jobs they hate with bosses from hell. Couldn’t Weisberger have come up with something slightly different?
