It is a novel that is significant for its time period.

A story about "The Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream"

Worth reading because it has potential to impact in a positive way.

A story about "The Little Prince"

The Little Prince

by Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I do think this is the greatest children’s book (no exaggeration). I read obsessively as a child, but this is one book that I have never forgotten. I remember his adventures, his impressions, his loneliness, his curiosity – and as an adult I now see how European children classics have small and large meanings embedded in them, because I love it for other reasons now. I also watched the cartoon growing up, and it equals the book in my opinion. I am already planning on buying this book for my little niece, who will not be born until Spring 2008!

It takes you back to childhood, the feelings, the memories, and then it takes a turn…

I would probably have not gotten so much out of it if I had not had a great English teacher in high school, because even though the theme is obvious, it takes additional commentary (i.e. reading the cliff notes as well) to bring the full meaning to life. I would definitely recommend reading it and then getting cliff notes/or finding additional info on it as well!

I loved the characters and storyline – I had trouble putting it down. Da Vince Code required more effort for me to finish.

In my opinion, it provides a topic that I have reflected on many times since – ie. when I first watched Apocalypse Now, when I had a friend come back from Iraq – the breakdown of human beings outside of civilized society, while extreme in this fictional novel, it’s a theme that is true. Worth reading!
