The day after I watched this, and heard the point about the saving grace of the States against the frankenstein war machine is Habeus Corpus, that Military Act was passed. Heil Bush!
I felt continuosly frustrated, bored and annoyed with all the repetitive padding throughout the series but driven to finish it for some gratification that was always one more book away (read $$$). But it never came and this non sequitur of a final book left me thoroughly unsatisfied and disappointed. You can’t use the medias rea defense for bad planning. It seemed more like a contractual obligation ending. The promise of an goreyesque children’s series was appealing, but the end of the series was an unfortunate event.

Despite its apparent inconsistenticies, this movie’s first act disturbed me for a few days. I hope that the direction they began this film with will be further explored.
Where does this nihilism come from in some French movies? (see Baise Moi, Irreversible, Going Crazy etc..) Who inspired de Sade? Many horror movies fail because they try to reassure the audience rather than scaring and dismaying us like this movie does.
I’ve been watching Quadrophenia and can’t help thinking that the g.novel must be credit the movie for it somewhere.
I liked the desaturated goreyesqueness but it would’ve made a better short.
