A story about "The Da Vinci Code" — 5 years ago

Entertaining and compelling to read, but … I don’t know. I guess I thought the book would be smarter than this. I could see every “twist” coming from a mile away, and the book kept reminding me of Artemis Fowl, for some reason.

A story about "The Solomon Sisters Wise Up (Red Dress Ink)" — 5 years ago

I bought this book last night and read it straight through. I don’t know why it touched the chord it did, but I ended up crying through half of it. Yes, it’s a Red Dress Ink book, yes, it’s chicklit, and yes, everything ends very neatly, but it was GOOD along the way.

A story about "The Fires of Heaven (The Wheel of Time, Book 5)" — 5 years ago

I have been completely sucked into this series.

A story about "How To Meet Cute Boys" — 5 years ago

Cute and mostly fluffy. This one at least had me laughing aloud a few times.

A story about "Ten Big Ones: A Stephanie Plum Novel" — 5 years ago

I think I laughed aloud more at this book than some of her others! The ending though—it just ended! Shortest denouement I’ve seen in a while. ;)

A story about "The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Volume 1: Charmed Life / The Lives of Christopher Chant" — 5 years ago

Okay, I loved this book. “Charmed Life” had me laughing aloud on the airplane. This book is good for older kids who liked the Harry Potter/Ella Enchanted sort of book and now want something else to read.

A story about "It Had to Be You (Grace & Favor Mystery Series)" — 5 years ago

Cute, light, fluffy. I guess I’ve become used to a different type of book, even a different type of cozy mystery.

A story about "Crossroads of Twilight (Wheel of Time, Book 10)" — 5 years ago

Oh dear. I was so hoping all of the reviews were wrong, but they weren’t. This book is just boring and overly detailed. Almost nothing happens. I tried to really read everything so I could keep up with the story, but there are so many times you can read endless strategy and battle details (as well as wardrobe details). Oh well.

I’m always happy with a Donna Andrews book.

Might as well try this one, too.
