A story about "The Friday Night Knitting Club" — 15 weeks ago
Charming, and yet it reads very much as if the author planned to get a movie deal from her book all along; it feels pretty measured and calculated.

Not your typical movie, this was so unexpectedly good and moving I wanted to watch it again almost immediately after it was over.
I was so surprised at how much more I liked this than I thought I might – it’s so moving and really good.
Thank goodness Roger Ebert went back and reviewed the movies he missed in 2006 – otherwise I would never have seen this charmer.
The front of the book is all about garment fit; very helpful, even if you’re not quite big, like me.
While I’ve technically read all the way through this book, it will take me awhile to appreciate the details of the great patterns – a very worthwhile purchase.
If you watch only one dark comedy about grim reapers this year, it should definitely be this one. Ellen Muth is perfect as Georgia, and Mandy Patinkin is surprisingly not annoying at all.
This book seems to be getting a bad rap on Amazon from people who expect it to be an exercise program – it’s more like an encyclopedia, and it’s a great reference when read in conjunction with classes or videos.
I liked this a lot more than the previous reader (good proofreading, by the way) – I was in the mood for a new mystery series, and really liked the tone and style of this one – the unfamiliar setting and existential tone made me want to read more of the other Kurt Wallander mysteries.
