Why I recommend "The Boleyn Inheritance" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love all the Philippa Gregory books. I always feel like I get a better sense of a time period (and potentially what court life was like), while still definitely reading a fun novel. This book was slightly different from some of her others in that it was written from 3 different view points. It took me a little while to keep everyone straight but it was a great story!

A story about "Wuthering Heights (Classic Novels Series)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

As with most classics, it took me about 100 pages to get into the story of Wuthering Heights, but by the last 150 pages I was totally hooked. It certainly isn’t a happy story, but it is told in an interesting manner and I kept wanting to know what would happen next.

Yay! I can finally check one more of the classics off my list.

Why I gave up consuming "The Pirate Hunter: The True Story of Captain Kidd" — 3 years ago

I started listening to this book today, but it sounds kind of a like someone reading a textbook to me. Maybe another day.

A review of "The Historian" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I listened to this book in audiobook form (all 26 hours) and I’m sad it wasn’t longer. I was immediately hooked… Dracula + History = entertaining story! Don’t be put off by how long the book is… it’s worth every moment of your time.

A review of "Madame Bovary (Oxford World's Classics)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I recently finished reading Madame Bovary for the first time. The story is about a woman who is unhappy with her life and keeps trying to find new diversions that will make her happy. It’s not a happy story, but I think we can all relate at least a little and possibly learn something from it. The book is very well written so even though the content isn’t uplifting, it is enjoyable to read.

A story about "Bel Canto (P.S.)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book takes a while to get into. In fact, it took me two tries to actually read the thing (and I never stop reading books once I’ve started them). I recommend plugging through the book… it’s a great story.
