A story about "Nevermind" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A classic. In that non-classical way. Who doesn’t like nirvana, I mean really?

The CD has some of the songs that later became great hits, and a lot of music that speaks to the younger generation (then and now). It’s rock but not screamo, not punk, not classic in the original sense. It’s just real and there.

A story about "Wikipedia" — 3 years ago

I know that there are a lot of problems and issues concerning Wikipedia—bias, copyright, veracity of information, etc., but still. It’s a fine and free source of information on basically anything. The only catch is that it’s reader-edited, which means that while some articles are quite fleshed out and have pages upon pages with charts and graphs and photos, others merit just one paragraph.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Well, I set it as “worth consuming” but only when you have a stomachache.

Otherwise, please back away from the pink bottle.

A story about "Wu Yen" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Great fun movie. It’s hilarious, with the kind of humor that’s funny late in the night or early in the morning. It’s in Mandarin Chinese, but you can find a subbed version. Unfortuanately, some of the jokes won’t be funny or accessible to a non-Chinese-speaking person. But it’s still one of those laugh out loud movies with slapstick and verbal jokes and a very, very complicated love story.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Frankly, I don’t remember much about this movie, except that it was fairly good and interesting with a few slow bits.

And, of course, the famous catch phrase.

A story about "The Truman Show" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A fun movie, but not stupid-funny. There is an underlying philosophical problem, and there is one melodramatic scene. But it’s a nice movie to watch, nonetheless, as long as you don’t except too much in the way of either comedy or drama.

A story about "scrambled eggs" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Scrambled eggs are the best breakfast food. Nothing else comes close. Pancakes and waffles are nice but not filling—they’re like desert masquerading as breakfast. Potatoes and hash browns and sausages and ham are all wonderful, but they only really serve to complement the eggs.

And don’t get me started on cold cereal.

A story about "Coffee" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love coffee, but not so much the taste of it. I really only like the caffeine/sugar buzz. (Sugar, because I never take my coffee black and it’s inevitably filled with sugar and cream.)

Coffee has been a godsend, especially for pulling disastrously unhealthy all-nighters.

A story about "The Catcher in the Rye" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Great book. It’s sarcastic and humorous, but very realistic. Not the happiest of books, but not drowned in melodrama either. Of course, Salinger is an amazing writer. Definitely a classic, no matter how you cut it.

A story about "fish & chips" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Yum! (Usually)

Actually I just had fish and chips on Friday (2 days ago). It was at Twohey’s, this old style traditional restaraunt in San Marino. They gave me exactly 3 fish pieces. And something like 5 “chips”.

But it was still pretty good. And there was salad and soup involved, so I forgive.
