Deliciously creepy. Slow and melancholy, but sweet. It’s the story of a unfortunate, disfigured Edward who has scissors for hands. The creation of some mad inventor who never gave him arms, Edward goes through life unbothered until he encounters a certain girl and becomes enveloped in a family and a neighborhood that cannot fully accept him.
So sad. But so, so good.
Spookily humorous. It’s an outrageous film with unbelievable scenes. There’s a nice story and a good fight between good and evil. Remember, don’t say the title three times in a row!
If only we could all take a day off like Ferris! I loved watching the crazy and dare I say, zany, antics of Ferris and friends as they ditch high school and have a day of non-stop fun. Well, almost non-stop. It’s a funny movie, with cute scenes and an easily understandable plot, with the good guys and the bad guy (the principal as the main adult authority figure).
Scared the hell out of me when I watched it (maybe because I was, oh, eight years old). I can’t stand scary movies, so this gets a “not worth it” from me.
A fun and funny movie for family nights or to watch with friends. It’s light and easy to digest, without any moral problems, emotional drama, or mystery. They’re Ghostbusters and they fight ghosts. There is a giant marshmallow man involved. How deep can it get?
Fun, though. A good movie from when comedies were still funny.
U2 is a great band, but this CD isn’t quite worth all the hype. The songs are fairly good, but nothing really stands out. As usual, the lyrics, even the surreal ones, have a nice metaphorical point. The beats and melodies are still catchy and reverberating, but it’s just not as good as I expected.
Still worth a listen, though.
Catchy pop-punk with a point.
Green Day revives itself with this CD. It seems to be made up of single-worthy songs. There are catchy upbeat melodies with easy-to-remember choruses and blatant political messages. Maybe not the deepest, most poignant music ever, but the simplicity of its lyrics does strike a chord within most people. And, c’mon, everyone likes songs they can sing along with.
Alanis always has witty lyrics, and the songs on this album are no exception. They’re a pleasure to listen to, both for the words and for the tunes themselves. My personal favorites are “Narcissus” and “Utopia.”
Great first album for 3 Doors Down. There’s not a bad track in the CD. Most are pensive rock, while a few lean towards the ballads of the past. The lyrics are meaningful, the melodies are contagious. One of my favorite albums ever.
