A story about "43 Things" — 3 years ago

43Things is a great website. I love meeting new poeople and watching as others progress with their goals. I think it has helped me work on my goals and determine what they really are. The support network is great, and the invention of cheers was brilliant. I always learn something new from people at 43T because 43Ters have such diverse goals.

A story about "Flickr" — 3 years ago

I was never able to quite get into the Flickr community. I found the group aspect confusing, and, as I dislike paying for any online group, I didn’t like the limits on the number of photos we could upload per month. I also didn’t like the limit on number of albums for non-subscriber types.

So I use Yahoo Photos, which gives me albums and unlimited space. For free.

A story about "MySpace" — 3 years ago

I like Myspace. But then again, I tend to like most of these community/networking websites. Which is probably why most of us are on 43T, allconsuming, and the rest.

It’s fun to comment on friends’ pages, read blogs, look at pictures, and just check out random bands and random groups. Networking sites are just another bit of simple fun, another way for human beings to connect with one another.

A story about "LiveJournal" — 3 years ago

Livejournal is one of the first and best journalling sites. It has great community functions, while still providing a lot of features for journal entries, organizing, and the etc’s that make websites great.

I’m still using this, and have been for a few years now. It’s got an easy-to-use interface that is also easily customizable if you know your HTML. Plus, the friends and groups options are great.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Really gross tasting.

Sour and over-carbonated. While downing it, I remember describing the taste as akin to that of chewable vitamin C tablets.

But it did give me a few hours of caffeinated energy, so it was worth it. I suppose.

A story about "More Things You Need To Be Told" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A cute, witty little book on common etiquette. Mostly interesting, some bits are a litle dry, especially when the advice turns to the mundane (things everyone knows already) or the extreme (advice for situations most people never encounter).

All in all, a good book for those who enjoy tongue-in-cheek self help lit for the twentysomething female set.

A story about "All Consuming" — 3 years ago

Allconsuming was a brilliant idea, and I take my hat off to the people who started it and the 43T people for taking care of it. Word of mouth is the most effective and longest-lasting form of advertisement there is, especially among women. AllConsuming is basically Amazon reviews condensed. The pressure to buy is gone, so people review what they want freely, thus potentially promoting products they like even more. The links to Amazon are convenient and wonderfully discreet.

I see millions of possibilities for this site, and I’m glad to be on it now. I’d love to see how it changes and expands (hopefully) in the future!

A story about "Shakespeare in Love" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A very realistic story. It tells the tale of Shakespeare and his lover. It is a mostly humorous romance until near the end, with a seemingly inescapable conflict.

It is one of the best historical romantic comedies out there.

A story about "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A hilarious jaunt through time. It’s funny, in a stupid-funny kind of way, with lots of immature jokes and some great awkward situations.

My favorite scene is when Freud asks Bill (or was it Ted) if he also wanted a psychiatric review. And his answer.

A great movie just for laughs.

A story about "Brokeback Mountain" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was definitely one of the best movies of 2006. The acting is great, both by Jake Gylenhaal and Heath Ledger. Ledger did get more of the critical acclaim, but don’t overlook Gylenhaal’s ease with his character just because his is a more jokey role. The cinematography was great, as was Ang Lee’s directing.

The story itself is simple, sweet, and sad. There’s a message, but I’d rather not delve into it. Watch it and see. It is not just the “gay cowboy movie.”
