A story about "She Wants Revenge" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is one of my favorite albums. It’s dark and moody with harsh beats and sharp lyrics (ok, some of the lyrics suck, but most of them are good). It’s the best combination of New Wave homage and post-punk, with a bit of goth rock thrown in. The songs are catchy, and singalong-able. Most of them are good to listen to when in an angry mood, a motivated mood, or a depressed mood. Depressed as in down and calm and mellow, not as in cutting yourself.

Although I guess this CD would also work for that.

Why I like people who have consumed "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Because they are probably impressionable, rebellious youths like me who like alternative music, but grew up with boy bands and have developed subconscious likings for pop-infused rock music, like Panic!

Go Panic! I saw them live twice. They are wonderful live. They have such energy!

A story about "Irish Soda Bread" — 3 years ago

I LOVE this bread!
They used to sell it at one of the supermarkets near my house. They put raisins and walnuts in it and the texture outside was floury and chewy but the inside was soft and springy. It tasted wonderful with some sharp cheddar.

Too bad they don’t sell it anymore, and I have no idea where to get some.

A story about the last time I consumed "Hot Fuss" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was in one of my best friend’s cars, driving around at night. There were 3 of us in the car. We were a little tipsy, but not too much. We had just got back from a day of fun at the minigolf course and restaraunts and just goofing around together. It was late now. We drove around the hills near our town, up and down dark and familiar roads. And all the while, we blasted loud music, including much of this CD, and sang along very loudly and very off key. It was wonderful.

Oh yeah, and The Killers = amazing.

A story about "These Things - EP" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

These Things is a great song. But even better, you get the bonus track of “Black Liner Run” which is one of my favorite SWR songs. I think it should’ve been on the album. The beginning drags on a bit long, but that’s something SWR does a lot—give you sequences of drum beats and bits that repeat for seemingly hours before getting to the actual song.

But it’s good. So listen to it!

A story about "With Teeth" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Good, but not great.
I love Nine Inch Nails. I like the hard sound, the direct bite of the lyrics, how the emotions seem to flow from Trent’s mouth directly to your soul.

But this CD wasn’t really all that great. It was a little too produced for me, too mellowed and plasticized and fit for the mainstream. It was still good, but not amazing.

Why I recommend "It's Time" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Michael Buble is one of my favorite singers of modern times. His voice is gorgeous and he sings full of feeling. Every song on the album is a pleasure to listen to. His style is, of course, similar to the old jazz greats and lounge singers, but still very unique.

Fun math game. The harder ones take too long for me to sit through them, but the simpler ones are a nice way to use up time.

A story about "80 Gig iPod" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love my iPod. There’s not much else to say except that it’s a great music and video player. The integration with iTunes is wonderful as well. The ubiquitous iPod is everywhere for a reason. I have thousands of songs on it, and I’m not even close to using up all the memory. People say that the battery life is a problem, but I’ve found that the fifteen minute quick recharges are good enough for an average day, and it’s not too hard to recharge it at night.

The only drawback, I’d say, is the easy-to-scratch surface. The little scratches are sometimes annoying when watching videos.

Other than that, kudos to Apple for finding their own niche!

A story about "Grey's Anatomy" — 3 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I’ve only seen a few episodes, at my friends’ urgings. It’s a fun show, sure, but I tend to dislike any show that shows gore (thus all the medical shows and all the crime scene shows are out). It’s funny, but not thatfunny. So overall, it’s just another TV show.
